Do I need an appointment for blood collection or testing?

For certain examinations, an appointment may be recommended or required. Please contact our team for more information or appointment scheduling.

Which tests require fasting?

Tests such as biochemical examinations, glucose testing and glucose tolerance tests usually require fasting. Please consult the physician who referred you for the examinations or contact the laboratory for further information.

When are blood collections performed at the laboratory?

Blood collections are performed daily, Monday to Friday, during the laboratory’s operating hours, from 07:00 to 20:00.

For certain examinations, a specific appointment time or prior scheduling may be required.

Is any special preparation required before blood collection for genetic testing?

No. Genetic testing does not require fasting and is not affected by the time of day during which the blood collection is performed.

Is there an additional cost for genetic counseling?

No. The specialized geneticists and biologists of Science Labs Genotypos are available to provide genetic counseling before and after the performance of genetic analyses at our laboratory, with no additional cost.

Do you collaborate with EOPYY and insurance providers?

Yes, Science Labs Genotypos collaborates with EOPYY and selected insurance providers. More information is available in the “Insurance Funds & EOPYY Coverage” section.

How can I request home blood collection?

From which week of pregnancy can NIPT be performed?

Non-Invasive Prenatal Testing (NIPT) can be performed from the 10th week of pregnancy through a simple maternal blood draw.

What is the difference between VERACITY™ and VERAgene™?

Both are advanced NIPT solutions with different levels of genetic screening coverage. More information is available on our dedicated prenatal testing website.

When will my results be available?

Turnaround time depends on the type of examination performed. Please contact our laboratory team for further information.

How can I receive my results?

Results may be delivered electronically or collected directly from the laboratory, depending on the examination and agreed procedure.

Where is the laboratory located?

Science Labs Genotypos is located at 19 Katechaki Avenue, Athens, within walking distance from Katechaki Metro Station.

Does Science Labs Genotypos participate in the Doxiadis program?

Yes. Science Labs Genotypos collaborates with the Doxiadis program for the performance of selected diagnostic examinations within the framework of preventive and laboratory healthcare programs.
